2013 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker Notes: 2013 was a stunning year for Cabernet Sauvignon. In fact, we’re releasing this wine along with its 2013 Estate counterpart. The Reserve wine has layers of flavor and tannins that benefited greatly from nearly a decade of aging.
2013 was a drought-lifting vintage in Paso Robles, and the wines are among the best of the last decade. Block 3 Cabernet Sauvignon formed the base of this wine and also played a large component of the 2013 Fog Catcher. Years of cellar aging have tamed the almost overwhelming density and structure this wine had in its youth, and it’s drinking wonderfully now. It was bottled unfiltered, so we recommend carefully pouring into a decanter to serve.
