2016 Fog Catcher
Library Release
Fog Catcher is our flagship estate Bordeaux blend, named for the cool, grey banks of fog that drift over our vineyards in the early morning. The 2016 vintage is a co-ferment of our best block of Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot with Malbec and Carménère blended in. This is a wine built to age, and eight years after its release this wine is in its peak drinking window and would be a perfect addition to your Holiday tables this year.
In 2016 we we hand-harvested and fermented each varietal and aged the wines in barrel for a year. We then tasted each and selected the top 30 barrels to compose the final blend. The wine was returned to French oak barrels and aged for a total of 29 months. This wine is a harmonious blend of intriguing spices, notes of black currant, licorice, plum and violet followed by expansive tannins that linger on your palate for minutes after drinking.
