Our 10 acres of Syrah at Heart Hill Vineyard are divided into 8 different blocks. 2016 was a beautiful year for Syrah and the resulting wine is a true expression of a Westside Paso Robles Syrah. This bottle contains 100% Syrah and gives you a rare chance to taste the raw beauty of Heart Hill Vineyard in a single varietal.
We put our Syrah through a long, slow and cool fermentation to gently extract complexity from the already deeply-pigmented grapes. We aged the wine in 66% new French oak barrels for 20 months adding nuance and softening the traditionally big flavors of black cherry and notes of leather. With the gorgeous natural acidity that comes from the site, we expect this powerful wine to age extremely well and recommend adding it to your collection if you’re looking for a wine that will continue to develop over the next 5+ years.
