2017 Fog Catcher
Library Release
Fog Catcher is our flagship estate Bordeaux blend, named for the cool, grey banks of fog that drift over our vineyards in the early morning. Each year our Winemakers taste our entire library collection of Fog Catcher bottles, from 2006 to 2022, and select their favorites to share for the Holidays. In 2025 we’re excited to share three special vintages: the 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The 2017 vintage is a blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Malbec, 20% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Franc aged 29 months in French oak barrels. The vintage brought ample Spring rains followed by a warm summer to Paso Robles. The combination led to a small, but mighty, vintage. We hand harvested the grapes and fermented them in stainless steel tanks before aging the wine for 29 months in French Oak barrels. This wine is a harmonious blend of intriguing spice, dark fruits and expansive tannins that linger on your palate for minutes after drinking. Further aging in our cellar has softened the edges of this wine, producing a delicious expression of the vintage.
