2017 Pinot Noir
Edna Valley
After its release in 2019, this wine was selected as one of Wine Enthusiast’s “Top Wines of 2019” and has continued to develop beautifully in our cellar. We couldn’t resist releasing a few more bottles from our collection for the holidays!
The cool, foggy mornings, afternoon breezes and coastal proximity of Jespersen Ranch create the perfect climate for cultivating Pinot Noir. To create complexity in this single vineyard, single varietal wine, we used a combination of whole clusters, dried stems and destemmed fruit during fermentation. We aged the wine for 11 months in carefully selected French oak barrels, 38% of which were new. Additional time aging in the bottle has helped it to evolve beautifully. Plush notes of cranberry and cherry underscored with herbal tones and brushy, soft tannins make this a perfect bottle to gift or celebrate with this holiday season.
