This release is a bit of a unicorn wine because we no longer own and operate Bootjack Ranch, making this bottle a special piece of our history from one of the best vintages of that decade.
One particular hillside of Cabernet Sauvignon at Bootjack Ranch had a reputation for producing remarkable grapes that yield a wine with full fruit flavors and plush tannins, and this bottling is desigend to feature that natural brilliance. In 2018 we hand-harvested the grapes and fermented them in a stainless steel tank for nearly 25 days. We opted to use only free-run juice in this wine, keeping the natural beauty and finesse from the vineyard. This decision produced less wine, but of a higher quality. We selected 18 of our best French Oak barrels to age it in for 19 months before bottling.
