In 2020, one block of Cabernet Franc at Heart Hill Vineyard stood out as exceptional, so we bottled it as a standalone variety for the first time since 2017. After hand harvesting and destemming the fruit, it went through a short fermentation in stainless steel tanks before aging in 33% new French oak barrels for 20 months. A small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon was blended for color and texture. Minimal intervention in the winery coupled with the light oak impression allowed us to focus on plush fruit characteristics and complimentary flavors. The 2020 Cabernet Franc is juicy with bright red fruit flavors followed by chalky, persistent tannins.
