This is our first 'Concrete Chardonnay', named after the special concrete tank we aged it in. The wine was so distinct from the rest of our barrel aged Chardonnay that we decided to bottle it independently, just for our Club Members. It is a delightful balance of stony minerality, vibrant acidity and fruit and floral flavors.
On October 11th, 2021 we hand-harvested Chardonnay clusters from "Block 27" at Jespersen Ranch. This small parcel of the vineyard always produces beautiful fruit, and we whole-cluster pressed the grapes and transferred the juice to neutral French Oak wine barrels to ferment. After fermentation, we transferred the wine to a small concrete tank to age for 9 months. This Chardonnay showcases a pure, fruit-driven expression of coastal Chardonnay that we are excited to share with you.
