Syrah thrives across the entirety of Heart Hill Vineyard, but the blocks that make up this blend have distinct dark fruit flavors and savory depth that Syrah is renowned for. For this Reserve bottling, Winemaker Patrick Muran united the character of the sun-drenched crown of Heart Hill with the contrasting expression found in the vineyard’s coolest pockets, bringing both into balance. The juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks, then aged 22 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels to add structure and warmth. We bottled the wine unfiltered, resulting in a seamless marriage of these two unique Syrah blocks that make up the majority of the blend, yielding a wine layered with generous dark fruit, and savory complexity
