Jespersen Ranch’s foggy mornings and coastal breezes provide the perfect environment for Pinot Noir. We farm seven different clones of the grape here and craft a complex, single-vineyard wine each vintage.
The 2023 vintage was long, cool and spectacular. Hailed by many local vintners as one of the best vintages of the decade, this Pinot Noir will be one for the collectors. We hand-harvested beautiful clusters in the morning fog and fermented them in stainless steel tanks. We used a variety of winemaking techniques including whole-cluster components, sundried stems and de-stemmed fruit. We aged the wine 10 months in French oak barrels. This is a classic Pinot Noir with cranberry and candied orange notes and hints of rose petals, earth and wet clay.
