We farm Pinot Noir and Meunier at Jespersen Ranch and always select specific blocks to farm intentionally for our Rosé. The vineyard is located in the northwestern corner of the Edna Valley AVA just four miles from the ocean, making it an ideal place to make a delicious, crisp and dry pink wine. In 2024 we hand-harvested both of the grapes in early September as one of our first picks of the season.
The 2024 Rosé is stellar, with watermelon, strawberry and kiwi aromatics bursting out of the glass. The palate has a lot of minerality and juicy fruit flavors that make an elegant rosé you’ll want to drink all summer long.
To make this wine we destemmed 40% of the clusters and foot-tread them before pressing. The remaining 60% were lightly whole-cluster pressed. We fermented half of this wine in concrete accentuating the beautiful minerality and vibrant fruit flavors. The rest was fermented in stainless steel drums and neutral oak barrels.
