This is the inaugural release of Coastal Cuvée: an unconventional blend of two grapes and vintages. The name celebrates the coastal influence of Jespersen Ranch where we farm both Pinot Noir and Grenache. We’ve found that the grapes have flavors, textures and aromas that work very well together - especially when grown at the same vineyard site. We hand-harvested each grape, fermented them in stainless steel and aged them in French oak barrels.
When it came time for our Winemakers to blend, they discovered that the 2022 Pinot Noir and 2023 Grenache complemented each other perfectly. A unique discovery for us! We decided to bottle a small amount of the wine to release as a summer red. It’s a juicy wine with raspberry, pomegranate, hibiscus and tea leaf flavors and our Winemakers recommend serving it slightly chilled. With only 165 cases made, this wine will sell out quickly!
