SUMMER SHIPPING

During the warmer months (May - September) we use a fulfillment center and have shipments go Pack n’ Ship Temperature Controlled to fulfill all wine orders that would normally be sent via Fed Ex Ground. When using Temperature Controlled, wine orders are sent from our air-conditioned Paso Robles Warehouse via temperature controlled trucks to one of several air-conditioned regional hubs located throughout the continental U.S.

New Mexico, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Flordia, New Hampshire, Massachusetts., Connecticut, Maryland, DC

Shipments from Paso Robles to these hubs happens once a week. Please note that while the wine is in transit to the hub there is no daily tracking information available. When the wine arrives at the hub, it is scanned and a cold pack is added to the parcel to protect it from potentially damaging heat during the final leg of shipment from the hub to your door.

This final leg is designed to take no more than two days. This Temperature Controlled method does take longer than standard Fed Ex Ground shipping (Up to three weeks in total), but using this method during the summer is the most cost-effective and safest way to ship your wine through the heat.

Shipment Policy and Procedures

All wines are sold in California and title passes to the buyer in California. We make no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import wine into any state outside of California. The buyer is solely responsible for the shipment of wines. By placing an order you authorize us to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order where you wish. We can not ship to P.O. Boxes.

Wines may be sold and delivered only to persons who are at least 21 years old, and only for personal use, not for resale or trade. In placing your order you represent to us that you are at least 21 years old and that the person to whom your wine will be delivered is at least 21 years old. Shippers are not permitted to leave packages without obtaining an adult signature. For this reason, we recommend using a business address if you are not home during business hours.

Heat Damage

We are very careful to maintain proper storage temperature for our wines within our winery. Exposure to heat during shipping impacts all characteristics of a wine, by speeding up all the chemical reactions involved in normal aging, as well as causing some reactions that are not involved in normal aging. Wine that has been exposed to heat will basically smell and taste old before its time and may also show cooked aromas or flavors that were not there before and would not have developed had the wine not been exposed to heat. Sometimes a heated wine will expand enough that it actually pushes the cork a little bit out of the bottle and leaks out. A pushed cork and a leaky bottle are obvious visual indicators that a bottle has been exposed to heat, but the absence of these two symptoms does not guarantee that the wine has not been exposed to heat.
