Reserve Wines Earn 91 Point Scores

four of our single-vineyard Reserve Wine releases have been awarded 91 points. Two wines from Heart Hill Vineyard & one wine each from Bootjack Ranch & Jespersen Ranch

2013 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Bootjack Ranch

Bright purple. Spice-accented blackberry and cassis on the nose; a hint of cherry pit emerges as the wine opens up. Bitter cherry and dark berry flavors take a sweet turn with air and show very good clarity and spicy lift. Fine-grained tannins shape the finish, which lingers with strong, spice- and smoke-tinged persistence // 91 points

2013 Reserve Syrah, Heart Hill Vineyard

Inky purple. Spice- and mineral-accented dark berries and pungent flowers on the nose. Appealingly sweet, expansive blueberry and cherry liqueur flavors are sharpened by a jolt of spiciness. Rich but also sappy and energetic, finishing on a bitter cherry note and displaying fine-grained, slow-building tannins // 91 points

2013 Reserve Syrah, Jespersen Ranch

Inky ruby. Powerful black and blue fruit and vanilla aromas are lifted by peppery spices and violet. Round, fleshy and expansive on the palate, offering pliant blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors that stretch out on the back half. Picks up a smoky quality on the long, penetrating finish, which is framed by slow-building, harmonious tannins // 91 points

Saturated ruby. Deep-pitched dark berry preserve, licorice and floral pastille aromas, complemented by peppery spice and woodsmoke nuances in the background. Sappy and seamless on the palate, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors that are given backbone and lift by juicy acidity. The spicy nuance reappears on the long, dark-fruit-driven finish, where gentle, harmonious tannins provide shape and closing grip // 91 points
